Insurance Valuations

We offer valuations of plant and machinery on the basis of New or Indemnity Reinstatement, as well as building valuations in conjunction with our Building Consultancy Division.

Our service can range from fully detailed valuations to updating services, desk reviews, annual site visits through to general consultancy advice, according to your requirements. We work closely with insurance brokers to ensure that values are reported in accordance with the terms and conditions of your insurance policy.

In the event of a loss we can provide a loss-assessing service on buildings, machinery, stock and also assist with consequential losses and negotiations in conjunction with your brokers.

We urge clients to remember that book values and market values are not appropriate for insurance purposes, and that many problems may arise if the wording of your policy is not followed.

Issues to consider:
  • What is the basis of insurance?
  • How do you deal with professional fees?
  • Are there any separate insurances?
  • How do you assess moulds, patterns, and press tools?
  • Are yard areas, walls and fences included?
  • Is there anything which should be excluded?
  • Should VAT be added?
  • The majority of businesses do not survive a major loss. Make sure you are fully insured – but make sure you aren’t over-insured either!
